About a week ago I got a message from Maier Fenster, asking if I wanted to give a talk on my ”IP in AP” white paper as part of his #IPTechTuesday line of webinars.
Never too shy to put myself on stage, I took him up on his offer, sent 1 or 2 drafts of my presentation, and that’s it. No preparation needed, as it is all so embroidered in my thoughts, that I am just looking for venues to vent 😊
Take a look at the ~35-minute recordingand tell me if you can perfectly describe your favourite egg dish in a patent claim format. Feel free to share your claim in the comments below, and let’s see if I can unequivocally identify your egg dish. It’s a nice exercise, very fun to do, and guaranteed to get you thinking on the difficulties faced by patent attorneys in describing alternative foods.
If you are a founder and want future patent examiners to understand what you actually invented – let’s talk.
If you are an investor and want your portfolio companies to have meaningful patents – let’s talk too.

Things you should hope for vs. things you should know
You can’t know everything. But what if you HOPE where you really should KNOW? Hoping your IP is solid isn’t good enough, What can you do about it?
